National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been put on the spot with the revelation of a past interview in which he boldly stated that he didn’t believe in one Nigeria.

Screenshots of the interview published 23 years ago by Thisday on April 13, 1997 has set tongues wagging on social media on how he could reconcile that belief with his alleged aspiration for the presidency.

The interview was conducted from exile at the time Tinubu was one of the leading opponents of the Sani Abacha regime which held power at that time.

Tinubu’s present political collaborator, President Muhammadu Buhari was also at that time an operative of the government being the head of the Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund, PTF.

Reactions to the revelation have been mixed especially given the fact that he is believed to be preparing to contest the 2023 presidential election.
