COVID-19 In Remission In Lagos
News about the possible remission in the transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country gained traction on Wednesday as the number of those who recovered from the disease crossed the 40,000 mark.
The number of new cases as gathered by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC was 221 which brought the total number of cases since the onset of the pandemic to 53,021.
The total number of those who have recovered was 40,281 with 1,010 deaths.
Lagos which was the centre of the pandemic recorded 17 new cases on Wednesday.
The highest number of daily new cases was 60 in Plateau State with the FCT, Kaduna and Rivers recording 33, 26 and 18 respectively.
Wednesday was the lowest number of new cases recorded by Lagos State in three months and was the first time that the state was not among the first four states in the tally of daily new cases.
