Reactions have trailed the protest of staff of Lagos State University (LASU), in which the institution vice-chancellor, Olanrewaju Fagboun and students were prevented from entering the school premises.

Lagos State Government had earlier announced that the state’s tertiary institutions should resume on Monday, with only final year students, after the COVID-19 lockdown.

As final year students and management staff were resuming to school, on Monday, staff under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Non-Academic Staff Union, and the National Association of Academic Technologists blocked the school gate in protest of their demands to the state government.

Pictures and videos of students and staff stranded outside the school gate have appeared on the social media, sparking reactions.

Some students who have reacted to the incident bemoaned the constant strikes embarked upon by universities lecturers in the country, noting that it is affecting academic activities, adversely.
