Nigeria recorded a total of 136 new cases of the novel COVID-19 disease on Monday in 11 states as fears over a permanent exit of the virus from the country turned into an issue for some.
Lagos had the highest number of new cases with 71 followed by Rivers and Plateau States with 23 and 12 new cases respectively.
The new cases brought the total number of the pandemic cases in the country to 58,460 while another 49,895 cases had been discharged.
The agency also said that 1,111 persons had died from the pandemic in the country.
