Mimiko Fooling Himself, Enemy For Life: Akeredolu
By Emmanuel Adigwe
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has stated that the All Progressive Congress ( APC) will not lose the upcoming election in the state saying that Edo is not like Edo and his relationship with former governor, Mimiko, is strained for life and he is a “bogus enemy”.
Governor Akeredolu stated this while appearing on Channels Television programme, Sunday Politics, saying that the APC loss in Edo has nothing to do with Ondo.
He said: “Let me say straight away, one thing is certain Edo starts with E, Ondo starts with O, Ondo has four letters. The spelling of Ondo is different from Edo. So what happened at Edo cannot affect my chances at the poll. I can assure you that Edo is different from Ondo.”
Speaking on his relationship with his predecessor, Olusegun Mimiko, Akerdolu said that the former governor is no longer a friend but a “bogus enemy” and it will remain so forever.
He said: “For me, he (Mimiko) is a bogus enemy, That is established now and referring him as my friend will probably not be right, To me, he is a bogus enemy and he remains so I think for life and it is better for us to go our separate ways because with friends like him, you don’t need an enemy. If he (Mimiko) thinks he is doing politics he is fooling himself. Mimiko is not a friend.
The governor also talked about godfatherism saying that he does not have a godfather but God is his father.
GWG reports that the gubernatorial election in Ondo is scheduled for October 10.
