The publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has invited Nigerian singer, Burna Boy and 2baba for the scheduled October 1, nationwide protest.

Sowore had taken to the microblogging platform, Twitter to create awareness for the #OccupyNigeria protest for October 1, the Independence Day anniversary of the country.

The activist called on Burna Boy and 2baba, in separate tweets, to join the nationwide protest.

On Tuesday, Sowore said Burna Boy has never led a protest in the country despite the comparison with legendary afro singer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti while calling on him to join the protest.

Sowore wrote, “Hello @burnaboy, everywhere I turn people describe you as a revolutionary musician, the foreign media even celebrate you, compare you to Fela Kuti, but I am yet to see you lead anyone to a police station carrying a coffin for head of state! Join #Oct1stProtest#RevolutionNow.

“Hello,  @official2baba, sent this to your wrong account earlier! See what the “Amaka’s” in @NLCHeadquarters are doing? Meanwhile, I hope you will join us this time around on #October1stProtest #OccupyNigeria2 #RevolutionNow Global Action against tyranny, oppression, corruption?”
