Civil rights activists on Thursday defied warnings by the authorities and came out in their numbers to protest against alleged bad governance, injustice and other social ills in the country.
The demands were made on the fringes of activities marking the country’s 60th anniversary.
The RevolutionNow protest spearheaded by Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters, put up an appearance at the United States embassy in Abuja with fellow canvassers in his company.
Among those present at the Abuja demonstration beside Sowore were Aisha Yesufu, Deji Adeyanju among others numbering more than 100.
Besides Abuja, GWG reports that the protests were also held in Lagos – Ojota to Maryland, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Edo, River States.
