Outrage Follows Shaving Of ‘Unislamic Hair’ In Kano

Harsh criticisms have trailed the action of Kano Hisbah, an Islamic taskforce agency after its officials forcefully shaved the hair of some youths for “un-islamic” hair styles.
Pictures showing task officials of Kano Hisbah shaving the hair of some youths in the state have appeared on the social media.
The taskforce agency also arrested some youths for what they perceived as indecent dressing that did not align with Islamic tenets.
Many Nigerians have reacted to the action of kano Hisbah, arguing that the rules are only meant for the poor, while excluding the rich.
They also wondered about the legal framework backing the action of the agency to infringe on the fundamental human rights of citizens.
The reactions were led by Senator Shehu Sani who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the last dispensation.
