Echoes Of Funsho Williams As Lagos PDP Candidate Alleges Failed Assassination

Echoes of the murder of popular Lagos politician, Fusho Williams arose on Tuesday in Lagos after another increasingly popular Lagos politician, Babatunde Gbadamosi alleged he escaped the trigger of assassins in Lagos on Monday.
Gbadamosi who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 governorship election is now the candidate of the party for the bye-election into the Lagos East Senatorial race.
His prospects according to some reports has the advantage of the allegation of illegal registration of the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Tokunbo Abiru. Abiru is alleged not to be a voter in the constituency according to court documents.
Gbadamosi had in two tweets alleged an assassination bid in Somolu on Monday but that the gun for whatsoever did not go off.
He, however, did not give further details or whether he has reported the matter to the police.
GWG was unable to confirm the development as at Tuesday.
This development elicited reactions as many likened the assignation attempt to the murder of Funsho Williams in 2006.
GWG recalls that Funsho Williams was a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the PDP with strong support in the state.
Some sympathizers and Nigerians took to the micro-blogging platform to vent their views on the developments on Tuesday.
