Nigerian Mums Join #EndSARS Protests

The #EndSARS protest took another dimension on Friday as Nigerian mothers joined the agitation, taking to the streets to protest the constant brutality of youths by operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).

The women took to the streets of Agege area in Lagos State with different placards with the inscriptions “say no to oppression, looking good is not a crime, say no to police brutality.”

They were also chanting “stop killing them, stop killing our children, they are the future of tomorrow.”

The #EndSARS protest which has snowballed to different parts of the country was triggered by a viral video showing police brutality of a young boy in Ughelli, Delta state.

Celebrities around the globe have lent their voices to the protest against police brutality of youths in the country.

At a point on Friday, the hashtag, #EndSARS was the first trend on the trend table, worldwide, with over two million tweets.
