Anxiety As Ondo Awaits Results From Dep Gov’s Strongholds
With all but four Local Government Areas yet to be collated Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the APC was by Sunday morning in a unbeatable lead in the Ondo State governorship election conducted on Saturday.
The governor was maintaining a lead of 213,332 ahead of Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP who had so far polled 149,144 votes and the deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi who is the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party with 33,143.
The results yet to be declared are those from Ondo West, Ilaje, Odigbo and Ese Odo.
All the local government areas are strongholds of the deputy governor who is supported by former governor Segun Mimiko from Ondo.
However, election monitors do not expect the results to so much erase the large the distance already put between Akeredolu and his rivals.
