Nigeria’s Most Capped National Soccer Team Player Mourns

Nigeria’s joint highest goal scorer and former assistant Falcon’s assistant coach, Maureen Mmadu says she is heart broken following the death of her only son.
Mmadu who is Nigeria’s first female coach to have ever been engaged by a top European side announced the death of her son on Wednesday. She, however, did not reveal the cause of his death.
“My one and only son, I can’t believe you left me this early. You had a lot of dreams, which I told you to keep trusting God.
“We had a discussion that this December everything will come to pass. Oh death why? My heart is shattered. A black Wednesday for me. Rest in the bosom of our LORD. A star is gone,” Mmadu wrote.
The professional ex- women coach made her Falcons debut in 1993 and attended four Women’s World Cup.
She also competed at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games in an international career that spanned 18 years and holds the record of the most capped national team player with 101 appearances jointly with Vincent Enyeama.
