Viral videos showing soldiers flogging a young lady for “indecent dressing” and shaving the heads of some youth in Ibadan, Oyo State have sparked outrage on the microblogging platform, Twitter.
In one of the viral videos, a lady wearing an armless gown was made to sit on the ground, while a soldier whipped her with what appeared to be a leather belt.
In another video, a young man was made to sit on the ground, while a soldier was seen using a pair of scissors to shave his head, as another was heard chanting “EndSARS hairstyle.”
The two incidents were said to have occurred at Beere area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The soldiers were deployed to the area, during the #EndSARS protests to restore peace and order.
However, residents have lamented over what they described as harassment and brutality suffered in the hands of security operatives deployed to restore peace and order, in the wake of the #EndSARS protests.
The development has sparked outrage on the microblogging platform, as many Nigerians are calling on Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and the Army authorities to take bring the perpetrators to book.
