Aide Canvasses Umahi’s 2023 Presidential Bid

Governor David Umahi could be contesting the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC it emerged at the weekend.

The development came on the heels of the claim by leaders of the APC in Ebonyi State that the governor would be defecting to their party. It also came as a senior aide of the governor launched a campaign to the youths to embrace the second term governor of Ebonyi State as Nigeria’s president in 2023.

Leaders of the APC in Ebonyi led by former Senators Julius Ucha and Anthony Agbo told newsmen in Abakaliki on Sunday that the governor would soon formalize his defection to the APC.

They said that the governor’s entry into the APC would change the dynamics in the Southeast as he would join with Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State to reconfigure the zone for the APC.

Meanwhile, Governor Umahi’s Technical Assistant on Media, Lady Monica Chidinma Ada Eze on Sunday launched a campaign to the youths of the country on why the governor should be embraced as president in 2023.

Lady Eze who is also the Founder and President of David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA) in a statement said the youths of the country agitating under the aegis of the #EndSARS campaign will have their hopes realized with Umahi as president.

She gave a rundown of 23 reasons Nigerian youths will be better with Umahi as president even as she chided those youths who hid under the protest to conduct criminal activities.

Eze, however, expressed satisfaction that Nigerian youths have demonstrated genuine interest and capacity to take the country to higher heights when given the opportunity to steer the ship of state considering the timeless creed and patriotic zeal with which the exercise was conducted and the huge impact it has created on the polity.

She said given the need to entrust the  leadership of the country to the right person with the right frame of mind, perception, mentality and most importantly, with the fear of God, Nigerians must look the way of the outstanding youth friendly leader, His Excellency Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.
