Presidency Clarifies Reports On N150k ‘Monthly Pay’ To Repentant B/Haram Members

The Federal Government has denied reports of plans to pay repentant members of the Boko Haram sect N150,000 monthly.
The denial followed social media reports that the Government of Nigeria was making plans to pay Boko Haram repentant members N150,000 monthly.
Writing on his verified Twitter account, Bashir Ahmad, social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari urged Nigerians to disregard the report describing it as false..
He said “FAKE NEWS ALERT: The Federal Government is NOT planning to start paying repented Boko Haram members N150,000 monthly.
“The story is baseless and should be regarded as the usual fake news. When you see it here or on WhatsApp, ask the poster to provide a credible source of the story.”
