The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Friday dismissed a statement from the dissolved Ebonyi State Executive Committee suspending the National Assembly members of the state who refused to follow Governor Dave Umahi to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondinyan told GWG that the Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi led executive which was aligned to Governor Umahi had been dissolved.

“They are gone and they are gone, we don’t respond to impostors,” Ologbondinyan said.

“They are impostors and they cannot do anything about that,” he reiterated.

The Nwebonyi led executive had released a statement on Thursday, November 19, 2020 but dated November 13, 2020 in which Senator Sam Egwu, a former governor of the state among others were purportedly suspended from the party for anti-party activities.

The suspension of the 24 members was allegedly taken at a meeting of the State Working Committee, SWC, that reportedly took place on 13th November, 2020.

The statement signed by Nwebonyi and and the secretary of the dissolved exco, Chief Simon Anyigor, had asked those suspended to appear before the disciplinary committee to defend themselves of the allegations levelled against them.

The statement read in part: “In the resolution of the SWC of 13th November, 2020, they were suspended from the party for anti-party activity. “They were accused to planning to destabilize the party by constituting a parallel list of executives, evidence of which have been obtained.

“They are therefore required to appear before the Party’s Disciplinary Committee to defend themselves in the allegation on Friday, 20th November, 2020. Failure to comply with this directive attracts outright expulsion from the party.

“Please, accord the necessary action.” Those suspended include: Senator Michael Ama Nnachi, Senator Obinna Ogba, Hon. Chukwuma Nwazunku, Hon. Sylvester Ogbaga, Hon. Hon. Livinus Makwe, Hon. Chris Usulor, Hon. Victor Aleke among others.
