I Stay At Least Four Days Monthly In Yobe – Gov Buni

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has reacted to insinuations that he has abandoned the state since his appointment as Caretaker Chairman, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) saying that there is no month that he does not spend at least “three or four days” in his state.
The governor has of recent come under criticism by some indigenes of the state allege that governance in the state is suffering due to his absence.
In an interview with the BBC, the governor said he carries out his duties effectively even when he is not in the state.
Buni said that being in charge of APC has not affected governance in Yobe.
“On the issue of staying, there is no way I can spend a month without spending three or four days in Yobe State. And then, even if I return to Yobe, I won’t advertise or make it public that today I will be in Yobe and tomorrow I will be leaving,” the governor said.
“I won’t be revealing to the public that I came to Yobe or when I am leaving. And at this age of technology, when will anybody say that there was a bunch of files waiting for me?”
