More trouble came the way of the fleeing suspected pension thief, Abdulrasheed Maina as a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday granted leave to Mr. Adeola Adedipe the lawyer representing his company to withdraw his representation.

Adedipe told the court that he had been hired by Maina to represent Common Inputs Ltd., the company that is the second defendant in the money laundering charge instituted against Maina by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

As the trial resumed in Abuja on Thursday, Justice Okon Abang in a bench ruling granted Adedipe’s application to withdraw from the case on the claim that he has neither been able to locate Maina who hired him nor been paid for the services already rendered.

This blow comes for Maina after he was apprehended fleeing from justice in Niger Republic. Senator Ali Ndume who also stood surety for him has applied to withdraw from standing bail for him.
