How Maina Collapsed In Court

Abdulrasheed Maina, the erstwhile chairman of the now defunct Pension Reform Task Force has collapsed in court. Maina collapsed in the dock in the course of his trial over an alleged N2 billion money laundry charge he is facing.

The incident on Thursday happened as the court got ready to hear Maina’s no-case submission.

The prosecution had earlier closed its case and called nine witnesses on Wednesday.

The incident happened as Maina’s lawyer, Anayo Adibe, was briefing Justice Okon Abang, that he had yet to get the records of proceedings requested from the court’s registry when a loud bump was heard inside the dock where Maina was.

Officials including prison officials rushed to his aid.

The court then suspended proceedings for about five minutes.
