8 Die As Bandits Attack Emir’s Convoy In Katsina

Three policemen and five others in the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Namoda HRH Sanusi Muhammad Asha were killed following an attack on them by bandits during an attack in Funtua, Katsina State.

The attack was confirmed by the  Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo to newsmen on Friday.

The attack reportedly occurred late on Thursday as the emir was returning from a trip from Abuja to his domain in Zamfara State.

It was gathered that the emir’s convoy entered into an ambush laid by the bandits. GWG could not immediately confirm if the ambush was laid for the emir.

The attack happened as 344 students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State were released after six days in the custody of bandits.

The attack made the emir who survived with some others in his convoy to spend the night at a police station in Funtua.
