Early Christmas For Liverpool As Kloop Sets Records At Palace

By Christmas came early for Liverpool as they butchered Crystal Palace 7-0 at Selhurst Park to increase their gap at the top of the Premier League table to six points.

As early as the third minute, Takumi Minamino put Liverpool in front for his first Premier League goal after he was set up by Sadio Mane. Provider turned goal scorer, ten minutes before the break when Mane struck as a beneficiary from Roberto Firminho’s pass.

Mane netted his 10th Premier League goal against Palace, becoming the highest-scoring player against the Eagles in the competition, overtaking Jermain Defoe.

Mohammed Salah came on as a substitute to score twice and assisted Roberto Firminho’s second of the game. It was thumping triumph for Jurgen Klopp’s men who had not won away from home since they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on September 20.

Furthermore, Liverpool registered an away top-flight win by a margin of seven goals for the first time in their history, while it was their first seven-goal league victory since a 9-0 win over Crystal Palace in September 1989.

Jurgen Klopp made history again after he was named as the Best FIFA Men’s Coach Of the Year for the second year running in midweek, and he now has 127 Premier League wins as Reds boss, overtaking Rafael Benitez’s total of 126.
