Rivers APC Crisis Deepens As Amaechi Mainstream Suspends Abe
The crisis in the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, boiled over on Saturday after the Rotimi Amaechi led mainstream of the party suspended four leaders of the rival faction of the party.
Those suspended included Senator Magnus Abe, Hon. Igo Aguma, Barrister Wogu Boms and Livingstone Wechie.
All four were suspended on the claim of alleged anti-party activities.
Besides the quartet, the state executive committee also expelled all party members who were inaugurated as members of caretaker committees at the state, local government and ward levels by the Aguma faction.
The party has also expelled all members of the party who recently went to court to seek redress on issues pertaining to the crisis in the state chapter of the party.
The decisions were announced by chairman of the State Caretaker Committee of the party, Isaac Abbot-Ogbobula.
He said that the suspension of the quartet of trio of Aguma, Wogu Bom followed resolutions from the lower rungs of the party.
GWG gathered that ward executives aligned to the Amaechi led mainstream met in their wards and made the recommendations which were then forwarded to the local government executives which then subsequently transmitted same to the state caretaker committee.
