The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Abia State has challenged Orji Uzor Kalu to show photos of defectors in their thousands who left the party for Kalu’s All Progressives Congress, APC.

The party in a statement accused the Senate Chief Whip of weaving stories of defection to deceive the presidency and APC leaders in Abuja. The PDP also accused him of using the stories of defection to boost his ego.

The PDP in the statement obtained by GWG as such urged Senator Kalu to “stop misleading the public with fake defections”.

The spokesman of the party in the Abia State, Fabian Nwankwo while chiding the former governor of using such alleged deceptions of defection to massage his ego challenged Kalu at to how his residence could have hosted the thousands of defectors who supposedly thronged his residence.

While mocking Kalu over hosting “thousands of PDP members” in a house that cannot contain more than 50 persons as such challenged the Senate chief whip to publish the pictures of the thousands who defected.

“We challenge Orji Uzor Kalu to make available pictures of the ‘thousands’ of PDP members he purported to have defected to APC in his residence.

“The pictures being circulated in Abia by his cronies do not make up to twenty people despite the fact that the faces in the pictures are also well known APC members,” he said.

The PDP as such cautioned the presidency not to give in to what it described as the plots by the former governor and incumbent lawmaker “who is so desperate to please it by hook or crook just to shore up his already battered image”.

The PDP statement also cautioned Abians to ignore the “charade of Kalu and continue to support Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and PDP in their giant strides in the overall development of Abia”.
