The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC will appeal the judgment on the alleged certificate forgery suit instituted against Governor Godwin Obaseki at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The party in a message to its supporters said the judgment was not the end of the road in the quest to remove Obaseki from office.

GWG had reported that Justice Ahmed Mohammed had on Saturday dismissed the suit on the claim that the APC and the co-plaintiff, Willie Edobor failed to prove their case of certificate forgery against  Obaseki ‘beyond reasonable doubt.’

Responding to the decision in a statement obtained by GWG, the APC Caretaker Publicity Secretary in Edo, Mr. Chris Azebamwan quoted the chairman of the caretaker committee, Col. David Imuse, rtd. as saying that the party would appeal the judgment.

He said that an appeal would be filed immediately after studying the judgment.

The party boss while expressing confidence in the ability of the judiciary to give the party justice, said that the APC will appeal the the judgment.

He expressed hope that the will of the people and rule of law would prevail.

”We thank God also granting all the lawyers and the judge very good health with which they all contributed to bring the whole litigation process to this interesting stage. It is not the end of the road,” the statement quoted the APC chair as saying.

The party chairman while appealing to party members to remain calm and go about their normal businesses, expressed hope that the judiciary being the last hope of the common man would deliver justice for party members.
