Yahaya Bello’s Presidential Bid Confirmed
“Let us do our bit to support the current administration and join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari to save this country. Those that are leading today, I can assure you that apart from Mr. President and very few ones, others don’t have the interest of the country at heart. They don’t care about us and that is the truth,” Bello gave as his reason.
Yahaya Bello’s presidential bid which was initially thought to be a joke, GWG reports, is beginning to be taken seriously especially in the light of the energy and resources being poured into it.
There have been reported efforts towards raising the profile of the governor by some interest groups reportedly aligned towards his aspiration. The move it is alleged is aimed towards boosting Yahaya Bello’s presidential quest.
In the latest effort, the National Council of Women Societies, NCWS awarded him the honour of being Nigeria’s most Gender Friendly governor.
However, that award was immediately tackled by Barrister Natasha Akpoti, his rival during the 2019 Kogi governorship election, that she was attacked by agents of the governor during the campaign.
That was beside the allegation by her that supporters of the governor were behind the burning alive of a PDP woman leader, Mrs. Salome Abuh just after that election.
