Seven Killed As Bandits Attack Two LGs In Kaduna

Bandits have taken away a Katsina village head after laying siege to the community for hours on Friday morning.

The village head, of Raddah community in Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State, Alhaji Kabir Umar was yet to be head from as at midday.

His younger brother, known as Aminu who was not spared the bandits GWG gathered is presently receiving treatment in a Katsina hospital after being pummeled in his thighs.

It was gathered that the bandits started laying their siege to the community from 2.00 a.m. and subsequently operated for hours without interruption.

Residents revealed that the gunmen stormed the community in large numbers around 2am in the morning and operated for hours.

A resident in the community told The Punch,

“They abducted our village head and wounded his younger brother on the thigh. But we cannot say exactly the number of items stolen or taken along with them as they kept on shooting during the operation and also while they were leaving the community.”

The spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah confirmed the incident but failed to give details when Punch called him for his reaction.

“It is true,” he said curtly on the phone.
