Boko Haram: Nasarawa Gov Runs To Buhari

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has raised alarm that  Boko Haram   insurgents have  regrouped  and were causing mayhem in his state.

Governor Sule  stated this on Friday, January 22, in Aso Rock, after a meeting with President Buhari  in Abuja.

Briefing State House correspondents  after the closed-door meeting with the president, the governor   urged the federal government to come to his aide.

He said that members of the terror group, who were dislodged from a location along the Abuja/Nasarawa border last year, had regrouped along the Nasarawa/Benue borders, creating fear in the minds of people.

Governor Sule said he was with the president to discuss the insecurity issue in Nasarawa along with other issues including the possible federal government take-over of Jitata road, which serves as an alternative route from the state to the FCT.

The governor maintained that those arrested confirmed their membership of the Boko Haram insurgency group. Sule said Nasarawa had continued to have security challenges, noting that having briefed the president, he is confident that action will be taken to curtail the menace.
