Mutters Over Move For Igboho To Fight Boko Haram
Two prominent twitter activists, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and Senator Shehu Sani have disagreed over the possible deployment of the Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho to fight Boko Haram, the deviant Islamic sect behind the insurgency in the Northeast.
Senator Sani had started the twitter narrative with a post that Igboho who has won disputed plaudits in checking the activities of criminal herdsmen in the Southwest should be deployed to the Northeast.
While some welcomed the suggestion , there were, however, many who expressed reservations and opposed it with some claiming that the Northeast was outside the mandate as supposedly given to Igboho by the ‘gods’. To them, it was not for Igboho to fight Boko Haram.
Senator Sani had said:
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the former minister of aviation replied to the senator saying:
There were several other interesting reactions to the suggestion with a lot of anecdotes.
Akogun CT Ayeni replying to Sani said:
Sambisa forest is beyond Sunday Igboho territorial mandate by the gods.
Olakunle Olabode replying to Sani said:
Well said, I am very sure Sunday igboho can help if federal government swallow their pride and approach him without any hidden agenda
Another twitter user with the identity More Than Enough, in replying said:
If miyetti Allah can negotiate for the released of kankara boys, they can as well drive away BH from Sambisa. Someone said this Down pointing backhand index.
That eventually became the trend of many other twitter users who said that the North should harness Miyetti Allah and others to resolve the crisis instead of deploying Igboho to fight Boko Haram.
Kingsley Iwu replying said:
Let those who invest Boko Haram as their businesses drive them away Sunday Igboho stand for western region and those living in it we should not deceive our selves with One Nigeria which is not one
Okon Bassey in his response to Sani’s invitation to Igboho to fight Boko Haram, said:
Sunday Igboho is conversant with his territory and it’s occupants, I think it will equally be better if a son of that entity flush out this pandemic called Boko Haram. My respect sir.
Kevwe Lansky in his reply said:
43 innocent Nigerians were beheaded & we just moved on like it’s was no big deal @ShehuSani only God knows how many would have been beheaded had Sunday Ighoho not responded…
OnyeChiMereEze also replying to Sani said:
Nope! You are wrong Mr Sani. Boko Haram must be driven away by those who created and fund them – The Fulanis from across the Sahel, with Nigeria govt as the chief sponsor (not Sunday Igboho). So next time, direct your invitation right.
