Notorious Kidnapper Nabbed Collecting Ransom

Questions are being raised on the Plateau after a notorious kidnapper, Adamu Uwar, who had been twice apprehended was again caught by soldiers while trying to pick up the ransom for another victim.

Umar was nabbed after he lured a woman, Zuwaria Mohammed towards the Rayfeiled area of Jos under the ruse of selling her some goods.

When she arrived she was, however, kidnapped while a call was made to her husband Rabiu Mohammed to pay a N2 million ransom for her.

Mohammed who contacted operatives of Operation Safe Haven was told to play along while an ambush was laid for him.

“The husband reported to the OPSH and was advised to agree to pay the ransom and a collection point was agreed. Own troops stormed the location, arrested the abductor and rescued the victim,” the Commander of the OPSH, Major General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo said when he paraded the culprit last weekend.

It was disclosed that Umar had been nabbed twice in past and was at the point of his latest arrest on  wanted list of the Police Anti Kidnapping Squad.
