God Has No Formula Outside His Word For Miracles

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water.

Numbers 20: 7-8.

This was not the first time that a situation of NO WATER would challenge the church in the wilderness.

About 38 or so years earlier at Rephidim, they were faced with a similar situation and the people because of no water almost ate Moses raw. Exodus 17:6.

At that time God told Moses to SMITE the rock and water would come.

38 or so years later with the same situation,  God told Moses to SPEAK to the rock.

This tells us that there is no formula or ready equation to addressing spiritual situations outside what God is saying or has said.

Now Jesus when He did cures did not restrict Himself to a formula.

When He healed the blind He put spittle on one, John 9:6, at another time He spoke Luke 18:42.

So, Jesus was not tied down to a formula.

In addressing the need of the Israelites for water, all that was required of Moses was to hear and heed the word God has spoken.

Beloved, that is also what is expected of us today.

We may not hear Him audibly, but we can heed His written word which is the supreme authority as concerning what God has said.

May God guide and guard you into His word.
