Man, Wife Taken Along With Kagara Students
Witnesses have been recounting their experiences of the abduction of yet unknown number of students and staff of Government Secondary School, Kagara, Niger State.
Among the adults taken from the staff quarters were a husband and wife, Dodo and Hannatu. They were among staff including Lawal, Ali and Mohammed Abubakar who were taken away with an unspecified number of students.
They were among two teaching staff, one clerk and 12 family members reportedly taken away by the bandits early on Wednesday.
One of the staff of the institution identified as Batagi it was gathered escaped from the bandits.
However, a student Benjamin Doma was not so lucky as he was gunned down by the bandits.
The principal of the institution speaking after the abduction said the bandits wore army uniform and initially pretended to be soldiers. He said, however, that they subsequently drove him to the school hostel where they packed the students.
Another witness told Daily Trust that the gunmen gathered some staff and students at a place for hours before moving them out of the school premises.
