Ganduje aide quits APC

The Department of State Security Service (DSS) has reportedly released Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, the erstwhile media aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State.

Tanko-Yakasai who was picked up on Friday after he went on social media to criticize his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC following the kidnap of 317 school girls from the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangabe, Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The detention of Tanko-Yakasai, who is a steadfast member of the APC, was over the weekend being used to mock the Muhammadu Buhari administration given the steadfastness of Tanko-Yakasai to Buhari and Ganduje.

While reaction to the abduction of the Zamfara school girls has expectedly brought sorrow to the parents and relations of the kidnapped hostages, there are concerns that the strong denunciation of President Buhari underlines the seriousness of the nightmare security crisis facing the country.

Many opposition elements who had in the past been at the receiving end of attacks from Tanko-Yakasai over the weekend were turning the screws on the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC led Federal Government saying that the arrest of the once fervent supporter of Buhari underlined the erosion of support for the president.

Even more many critics of the Buhari regime came out to assert that Buhari as opposition leader was never arrested even when he called for the resignation of President Goodluck Jonathan.
