Metuh Shakes Permutations In Anambra Guber Race

Claims of the imminent entry of Chief Olisa Metuh into the Anambra State governorship race were at the weekend shaking permutations in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, albeit falsely.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the rousing welcome Metuh received when he recently returned to the state after his medical treatment abroad fed the frenzy about Metuh entering the contest for the PDP’s governorship contest.

Besides, Metuh had also won a lot of goodwill following what many saw as his travails in the courts before the December 2020 superior court judgment that quashed his conviction on money laundering.

Metuh is also generally regarded as one of leading patrons of the PDP in Anambra State having acquitted himself in various offices at the national and zonal levels of the party.

He was received to a tumultuous reception on February 25, 2021 when he returned to the state for the first time after his ordeal. Major political gladiators in the state including some of the leading governorship aspirants joined hands to welcome him to what was generally acclaimed as a rousing reception.

However, the success of the reception GreenWhiteGreen GWG gathered, has led to the frenzy of Metuh entering the contest with insinuations that the reception was a cover to booster his image.

Given that Metuh could shake permutations in the Anambra guber race if he enters especially within the PDP there was a lot of frenzy with his presence in the state since his reception.

However,  GreenWhiteGreen GWG has confirmed from a very reliable associate of the PDP chief that Metuh is definitely not entering the race.

“Far from it, in fact very far from it. Being political actors, the success of the reception may have made some people to spread the speculation about Metuh running for governor, but that is definitely not true.

“Metuh sees himself as a patron in the PDP and his involvement in the PDP is more of a facilitator than as a participant in the governorship contest.

“Even more, Metuh believes that the present aspirants in the PDP are among the best and most qualified ever to contest to be governor of Anambra State.”

Even more, the source said that several of the aspirants are people who Metuh relate with on a personal level is personally connected to them.
