The Strenght Of The Inner Man
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; Ephesians 3:16
When Paul talks about the inner man, he
draws us to the reality of the outer man which he clearly distinguishes in 2 Corinthians 4:16 saying ” but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
The outward man which is what people see is the mortal self, the flesh that we present on the outside.
Because it is mortal and despite our efforts, it is perishing day by day.
The inner man is the spirit-being that faded not away, and which for the Christian, is fed by the word of God to bear rule over the outward man.
Beloved, when Paul talks about being strengthened in the inner man, he desires that the power of God would rule our inner actions and processes to the manifestation of grace on the outside.
