How PDP Trounced Kalu Brothers In Aba Rep Poll

Chimobi Ebisike, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been declared winner of the Aba North/South Federal Constituency election. He defeated Mascot Kalu, the younger brother of Senator Uzor Orji Kalu, the penultimate governor of the state and Senate Chief Whip.

Declaring the result of the highly contested election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC returning officer declared that Ebisike, the PDP candidate polled a total of 10322 votes to defeat Kalu who scored 3674 votes.

He said:

”The election was contested and the candidates received the following votes: AA candidate, 199 votes; Mascot Uzor Kalu, of the APC scored 3674 votes; Akaraka Destiny of APGA polled 1554 votes; Abraham Okonkwo of APM scored 10 votes; Uwando Chima of MRM polled 13 votes; Chimobi Iheanyichikwu Ebisieke of PDP, polled 10322 votes.”
Continuing, he said:

“That Chimobi Iheanyichukwu Ebisike of PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the election puts to an end the supremacy battle between the Kalus and the PDP stakeholders and other locals for dominance in the area.
