Erstwhile governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and stalwart of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Anambra State has escaped an assassination attempt that cost the lives of three policemen.
The attack took place during a meeting in his community, Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Besides the three policemen who paid the ultimate price, the fate of the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Emeka Ezenwanne, is presently uncertain. The commissioner according to GreenWhiteGreen GWG sources was taken away by the gunmen who invaded the community meeting.
Soludo it was gathered is being kept in a safe house as police review the development.
Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident but said that he was still gathering information on the ugly development.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Soludo recently declared his intention to vie for the forthcoming governorship election on the platform of APGA.
He is believed to be the party’s frontline candidate having reportedly gotten the support of the outgoing governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
