Police Arrest Man For Beating Son To Death In Kano

The police in Kano has detained a 40-year-old man, Awaisu Auwalu of Samegu Quarters, Kano for clubbing his 19-years-old son, Abba Awaisu to death over alleged theft of two gallons of red oil.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Kano.

The local image maker explained that upon receipt of complaints, the victim was removed from the scene and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano.

Kiyawa said “He died on the 29/03/2021 at about 0600hrs while receiving treatment.

He added that “On Investigation, the father confessed to have used stick and flogged his son. He alleged that, the deceased, made series of theft from his provision store. “

However, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi has ordered that, the case be transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section for discreet investigation.

DSP Kiyawa disclosed that suspect (the father) would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
