Our Christian Experience Is Rooted In Love

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being ROOTED and grounded in love; Ephesians 3:17.

The idea of the Christian being rooted in love figures a plant taking its roots in the soil.

The height to which a plant can shoot up depends on how firm it is rooted down, whether with fibrous or tap roots.

Now, the health of the plant would depend on the quality of the soil.

If the soil is dry and without moisture, the roots sooner than later will dry and so will the leaves.

But if it finds moisture, the tree or plant will blossom and bring forth fruit.

Now, Paul’s prayer is for the Christian to be planted in love.

First, the love of God which nurtures the love he shows to others around him.

Love is a fertile ground for Christian growth and stability and it is no surprise that it is the first element mentioned in the Fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22. “But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, joy…”

Beloved, may the love of God nurture your life today and always to the intent that it will cause you to be fruitful in your Christian work and walk.
