Easter: Badagry Church To Honour 70 Families

The Cathedral Church of St. Thomas, Badagry will induct 70 families into its hall of fame to commemorate the Easter celebration.

Prince Setonji Koshoedo, the Chairman, Planning Committee of the church, said this in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday.

Koshoedo said the induction was to honour the heroes and heroines who had served the church in the past.

According to the chairman, the induction will hold on Sunday to commemorate the Easter celebration.

Koshoedo said that the Badagry Cathedral Hall of Fame was the first of its kind.

He added that 70 families would be inducted into the hall of fame being the maiden edition.

“Families that had contributed immensely and supported the development of the ancient Cathedral Church of St. Thomas since inception both in kind and in service of the Lord will be inducted into the hall of fame as appreciation.

“Whoever has done well in the Lord’s vineyard deserves to be honoured either alive or dead.

“And there is no better time to do this than now being the Easter season.

“Just as we are remembering the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Church in collaboration with Badagry Cathedral Hall of Fame Committee will honour 70 families and individuals,” he said.

He listed some of the families to be inducted to include: Aholu Ebenezer Koshoedo, the Thazuno Of Ajara Vetho family, Chief F.H.N Ayeni family, Ogabi Samuel family.

The list also include: High Chief Mesi Henwa, Tofa-1, the Finhento Of Badagry Kingdom Family, Pa Jacob Kuponu family, Mobee family, Hundeyin family and Pa John Padonu family, among others.
