Preparations to receive President Muhammadu Buhari were going on apace in Abuja on Thursday following his absence out of the country in the last 16 days for medical check-up in the United Kingdom.
Part of the preparation was the ‘route lining’ of strategic points on the Abuja Airport Return road with soldiers and policemen being positioned at strategic points along the route.
The ‘route lining’ procedure is staged during presidential movements indicative of the fact that the president may have departed London for his return to Nigeria.
The president departed Nigeria on March 30, 2021 for what was announced as part of a medical check-up.
His presence in the United Kingdom, however, elicited controversy following strikes in the country while he left the country.
His aides and associates, however, defended the trip on the claim that he had been using the same doctors over the years before becoming president.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG efforts to confirm the president’s return from his media handlers was not possible as at press time.
