Knowledge That Does Not Puff Up: Paul!

Published

on

I therefore, the PRISONER of the LORD, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called. Ephesians 4:1.

It is touching that after the profound teachings in chapter three that Paul returns to still call himself a prisoner.

He had in the previous verses enumerated some of the most profound knowledge we can get in scripture, explaining the mystery of Christ in the dispensation of the ages, opening our eyes to our position in Christ (Ephesians 2:6) and teaching us to pray through his prayer for the Ephesians.

Given all the knowledge he now had, he could have been puffed up, (1 Corinthians 8:1), but Paul was not as he still described himself as a prisoner OF the Lord.

Remember that this same Paul had the unexplainable experience of glory and the heavens which according to him were not lawful to say – 2 Corinthians 12:1 – 5.

His experiences instead of puffing him and talking down on others, rather humbled him and brought him to know more his dependence on Christ.

Believed, may our knowledge and experience in the faith, not throw us out of the loop and simplicity that is in Christ Jesus, may we rather be humbled by them.
