Lady Chidi Onyemelukwe, Anambra 2021 governorship aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has pledged to project security at the top of her agenda if elected governor of Anambra State.

Onyemelukwe made this known in Nnewi while addressing a cross section of party faithful. Party men and women had trooped out in their numbers at the Nnewi North LGA Secretariat of the party to receive Lady Onyemelukwe who was the PDP’s running mate in the 2017 governorship election.

In her speech, Onyemelukwe acknowledged the rising insecurity across Anambra and several parts of Nigeria. She said the trends are worrisome and must be prioritized by any purposeful government.

According to her, “security, for me, will be a top priority. If given the opportunity, our administration shall implement fully, the government’s responsibility to protect life, property, economy, institutions, community and environment in Anambra state; and to make Anambra once again, fiscally secure and solvent.”

“Part of my compact with Ndi Anambra is to restore the state to #BetterLife, greatness and glory by orchestrating an industrial revolution building on existing facilities and competencies in the Onitsha-Nnewi-Awka (ONA) Industrial Axis, and ensuring they are provided with the enabling environment to thrive.”

Onyemelukwe served as a Special Assistant to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs). It was under her watch that Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) was birthed and established in Nigeria.

She also served as the Chairman, Board of Directors, Federal Housing Authority where she commissioned over two thousand housing units built by the authority, including initiating the over 104 units of Site and Services at Amansea, Anambra State.
