We Live To Affect Others, Ekwunife

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship aspirant, Senator Uche Ekwunife has reiterated that the essence of living is to positively affect the lives of one another, noting that being alive is a privilege and an opportunity to be a gift to others.

Senator Ekwunife spoke when she joined the PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the last elections, HE Peter Obi, other political leaders and the entire family of late Chief Isaac Okafor Ezeani of Umunnowu village, Agulu, Anaocha LGA to pay their last respects to late Ezinne Felicia Ezeani.

Late Ezinne Ezeani popularly known as Atala who died at the age of 95 was the mother to Chief Jude Onyeawuna Ezeani. Chief Onyeawuna Ezeani (Okeifufe Anaocha) is the PDP Chairman, Anaocha LGA, Anambra state.

The Requiem Mass which was held at St. John, Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church, Umunnowu, Agulu was Celebrated by the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Jonas Benson Okoye. The Mass had in attendance the Executive Governor of Anambra state, HE Willie Obiano ably represented by the deputy governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke.

Speaking during the sermon, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. B. A. C Obiefuna drew his reflection from the book of 1 Corinthians 13, urging that a life without love is nothing. He eulogized the virtues of the deceased and advised the children to emulate their beloved late mother.

Speaking shortly after the Mass, Ekwunife noted that funeral masses always present a time for reflection. She described the deceased as a great woman and urged the children to sustain the good legacies their mother left behind. Ekwunife said that the difference between the living and the dead is that the living still has the opportunity to use their talent to affect humanity. She prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

While appreciating the Senator shortly after the internment of the deceased at the family compound, Chief Onyeanwuna Ezeani appreciated the Ekwunife for identifying with him and his family in their moment of grief. He described Senator Ekwunife as a woman of great substance and numerous accomplishments, and prayed God to materialize her political aspirations.

On Ekwunife’s entourage were Chief Abolle Okoyeagu, former Member House of Representatives, Hon. Micah Umoh, Former Commissioner for women affairs, Hon Bridget Obi, former Chairman ASUBEB, Dr Rose Nwankwo, former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs. Helen Nwaeri, former member of House of Assembly, Hon. Dimobi Joseph, Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Hon. Ifeyinwa Chinwuko, Nollywood Star Actress, Rita Edochie, Hon. Humphrey Iloh (Eselu Njikoka), Felix Nwezi, Chief Joe Ezeatu amongst others.
