Chelsea, Arsenal Ladies Mock After Historic Gunners’ Double

After Arsenal did the league double on Chelsea for the first time in 17 years, supporters of two of England’s leading football clubs have gone on social media to project themselves on the potentially impactful outing on the prospects of the two teams in the next football season.

The 1-0 defeat of Chelsea gives Arsenal just a hope of not being removed from European action in the next season if, and if some of those ahead of them including Tottenham and Liverpool slip up.

With the loss, Chelsea slipped to fourth position and though still look good for qualification for the elite Champions’ league they now have limited room for misses with West Ham and Liverpool breathing down their necks.

Chelsea came into the game with a number of first team regulars left out, but it was still a formidable team that hosted Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The Arsenal goal came from a bit of luck after the unfortunate Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho made a mistake in his back pass that was going into an empty goal before Keepa forced it out to the lurking Arsenal attackers to hit home.

Chelsea’s ill-luck was compounded by misses including two hits at the Arsenal woodwork and despite a near domination of play.

After the 3-1 first round defeat to the Lampard led team, the second home defeat was the first time in 17 years that Arsenal did the league double on their London rivals.

Following the victory and with the still far prospects of qualification for Europe, Arsenal fans flooded the social media to celebrate.

The defeat was the second defeat for Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel was appointed coach and both now at home. The first was the 5-2 home defeat by West Brom.
