Ayade: Aide Resigns With Pidgin English Letter
A special assistant to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, on Student Affairs, Abang Ogon has famously tendered his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Pidgin English, and demanded the return of chairs he donated to the local government chapter of the party.
Besides the demand for the chairs, the letter has trended on twitter because it was written in pidgin English.
Mr. Ogon in his resignation also inputted the involvement of Governor Nyesom Wike in the crisis that forced his principal to resign from the party on which he was elected a senator and two-time governor.
The Ayade aide in his Pidgin English resignation letter addressed to the PDP ward chairman, Mbube-East ward II, Abang Ogon gave his reason for leaving the PDP as the defection of the governor as he went on to demand for the ward secretariat to be opened for him to pick up the chairs he donated which he claimed were bought with Ayade’s money.
He said:
Shebi you follow see the quarrel from 2019 till now
Shebi you see how people follow run leave community go organise machineries from Rivers State to come beat us?
“Shebi you don hear say Governor don move?” Ogon asked in the letter.
“Abeg you go open that secretariate, make I pack my chairs, na Ayade money I used buy am.
I no do again,” the Ayade aide said in the famous resignation letter that trended on twitter because it was written in Pidgin English.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Governor Ayade after years of cogitation finally left the PDP for the APC and was automatically vested with the leadership of his party in Cross River State.
