Uzodimma Reacts After Alleged Attack On Convoy
Governor Hope Uzodimma has disowned a viral video alleging he was attacked by unknown gun men in his state. He affirmed that he was not attacked and the purported attack as portrayed in the video did not happen in Imo State.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the viral video accompanied with news content had circulated on some mainstream and new media (Not GWG.NG) purporting an attack on the governor on Sunday.
The purported attack on Uzodimma was said to have occurred following the gunmen attack on Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC that also occurred last Sunday.
Responding to the viral video which it claimed was the handiwork of mischief makers, the governor’s media team said:
“We have seen a video making the rounds on social media and some other conventional media platforms of a purported attack on the convoy of the state Governor.
“While the video lacks clarity of whose convoy it is and where the attack took place, we make bold to say that it is not the convoy of Gov. Hope Uzodimma and this never happened anywhere in Imo State.
“It is appalling that while the state government is earnestly seeking for ways to restore peace and order in the state, mischief makers can only come up with this stage-managed video of an attack on the Governor.
“Imolites are enjoined to again treat this video as trash, a comical conspiracy and the handiwork of the enemies of the state and be rest assured that in no distant time, Imo state will bounce back to what it is known for which is peace.”
