A video has emerged of an Ethiopian Air Boeing 777-360ER stuck in the mud after it landed and skidded off the runway at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos.

The plane, which is a converted cargo plane and registered as ET-ASL, had just operated cargo flight ET3905 from Addis Ababa-Bole Airport (ADD) in Ethiopia to Lagos was stuck for about three hours in the mud after it skidded as it was taxiing to the apron.

The development came after its left-hand main landing gear sunk in the mud following the sinking.

Luckily, as the plane didn’t carry passengers but just goods, there was no serious alarm about passengers being stuck in the plane while rescue efforts were made.

The Ethiopian Air plane was eventually brought back to the runway after about three hours, towed to the arrival point, discharged its cargo and returned to Addis Ababa.
