How Angry Youths Burnt Truck-Load Of Cows In Awka

Eight children hawking wares were on Friday killed by a truck carrying cows at Kwata flyover junction in Awka, Anambra State.

Angry youths who were annoyed by the development quickly mobilized and set ablaze the lorry, including the cows, burning them to death.

According to a source, the accident happened when a truck which was conveying cattle to an unknown location lost its breaks while descending the Kwata junction slope.

The truck was said to have knocked down eight hawkers and injured four occupants of two other SUVs, which were also mangled.

The incident which happened about 2pm attracted angry youths, who burnt down the truck and the cattle, as they resisted attempts to free the cattle before setting ablaze the truck.

The source was, however, unable to say if the driver of the truck and the truck attendant were spared.

As of the time of filling this report, the angry youths defied attempts by the Anambra State Fire Service to put off the fire on the truck.
