It seems the Ohanaeze is yet to let go of President Muhammadu Buhari’s reference to the South-East region as “dot in a circle”.

Buhari’s statement on Arise Television has been receiving condemnation both from within and outside Igbo land.

Ohanaeze in a statement on Tuesday by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro said “dot in a circle is the Bermuda Triangular point that will gulp all anti-Igbo exponents.”

The apex Igbo group also said the silence of Northern leaders on the matter was a tacit support to Buhari’s statement.

Ohanaeze charged the leadership of the North “to speak out against discrimination meted out on Igbos and the disastrous declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari that the southeast is landlocked. No damage control or image laundering will assuage this collective assault on Ndigbo.

“It appears that there are chains of crafted skirmish programmed to either aggravate the trauma of Ndigbo or remind them of the sordid past years, and with” a dot in a circle” slogan that was used to maul Igbos during the Biafra war which left 3 million people dead, especially women and children.”

He alleged that “right now, just within 160days, 513 Igbos have been killed, 2436 arrested and 854 missing in the ongoing ‘imported’ security challenges in the southeast.”

Isiguzoro, however, declared that “we have seen the direction of events and Igbos are not noisy anymore, we are emergency experts in all situations. A dot in a circle remains the “Bermuda Triangular point” that will swallow nepotistic anarchists and anti-Igbo exponents”.
