Reno protest

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has vowed to stage a protest against President Muhammadu Buhari if he does not return to Nigeria from his medical vacation in London by July 10.

GreenWhiteGreen had reported on Thursday that the president would depart Nigeria for London on Friday for medical checkup.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president is expected back in Nigeria during the second week of July.

Recall that Buhari had on March 30 2021, embarked on similar medical sojourn to London for medical reasons.

Buhari’s stay in London was relatively unpleasant and humiliating as the former presidential aide and some other Nigerians in UK stormed his residence to demand his return to the country.

Reno, in a post on his official Facebook page on Thursday, said the president had had enough time to build great and quality health facilities in the country to prevent his frequent medical trips.

He said if the president could afford to spend $1.9 billion of Nigeria’s money on construction of a railway in Niger Republic then he should also build hospitals to address his medical needs and that of Nigerians.

The post reads, “I am putting you on notice. Your just announced planned trip to London to see your doctors next week is one trip too many.

“You have refused to build hospitals for Nigerians, and if by July 10, you are still in London, then prepare for the Mother of All #HarassBuhariOutofLondon.

“You have had six years to develop the health sector. If you can spend $1.9 billion of Nigeria’s money to build a railway in Niger Republic, then you could have built hospitals to cater to your health and the health of Nigerians”.
